How to create a curved line in Brother scan and cut canvas workspace

  1- Open canvas workspace. 2- Click on the path tool. 3- Click on your workspace. a node will appear. you can now draw a line. To draw a straight line hold the Shift key down while you are drawing your line. Double click to end the line. 4- Click on the left node. 5- Click on the + node icon to add a node to your line. 6- With the new node selected, click on the curve icon.Two more nodes will appear these are the handles to use to create a curve. 7- Click and drag one of the handles. The line will curve dependent on how far you move the handle. 8- You can click on the other handle and curve the opposite way. 9- You can add as many nodes as you like and curve as many times as you like. 10- Once you are finished you can click away from the design. when you re click once onto your line you are able to make the line smaller or larger.

How to Use a Foil Quill File in Canvas Workspace

  *CM900 model used. 1- Open canvas workspace. Click on the SVG icon. Most foil quill files will be in SVG format. 2- Select your foil quill design. 3- Your design will appear in the workspace. 4- With some designs they may need to be grouped so the many little parts do not move and can also be foiled together as one design. With all the design selected, right click and group. 5- Note with a single line file each black line will be drawn. If you were to cut this file you would end up with lots of little pieces not a design. 6- Go to file then transfer FCM file via the internet to send the design to your Scan and cut machine. If you do not have a wireless model you can save via USB or use a transfer cable to send to your machine. 7- When the file has transferred a window will pop up to let you know. 8- On the scan and cut screen click pattern. 9- Click the transfer icon. 10- Your design will appear in your workspace. Click the file drop down menu. 2- Select merge. 3- Select your SVG file. 4- Your SVG will appear. 5- Click on the fill tool and remove the color. 6- Go to the send screen. You can see that the edges will foil as and outline. 7- You can fill the SVG with the sketch tool. 8- You can change the width of each line to make the foil more dense. 9- Go to the send screen and select the sketch tool and media type. 10- Place your media into the mate and click send. 11- Your design finished.
